We are children of the sun and of light.

The sky is blue, the clouds are white, and the forest is green—but only while the Sun is shining.

When the Sun sets, all shapes and colors disappear into a deep darkness.

The inspiration for this painting came from a nebula that holds extraordinary forms within it. It is so luminous that it seems to be illuminated from within.

The dark clouds above which it rises cannot conceal its light. They cannot draw it into themselves or hold it captive.

Light longs to be free. Light is in love with freedom. To be free, to reach everywhere it possibly can, to illuminate the universe—this is its purpose.

Light was born to illuminate, and to fulfill that purpose, it must be free.

Light knows this. Its goal is freedom and a universe filled with light.

Escaping the dark clouds, it flees toward freedom, carrying its radiance into the universe.
