Are They Watching Us Too?
Yoksa Onlar da Bizi mi Gözlüyor?
Have you ever lifted your head and gazed at the night sky, especially on a summer evening?
What crossed your mind as you watched those shimmering lights?
Have your eyes ever wandered among the constellations, stars, and planets, thinking, Those are stars, that must be a planet, there’s the Big Dipper, and look, the Little Dipper is just over there?
And then, have you ever settled into a comfortable chair, your eyes fixed upon the vast dome of the universe, and drifted into a world of dreams?
As I gaze at that distant star from here, what if someone out there is looking back in my direction?
What if, somehow, our eyes are meeting?
Has that thought ever crossed your mind?
Long ago, before we understood the nature of those sparkling lights in the heavens, we imagined that night descended like a great lid closing over the Earth.
As our knowledge grew, we began to understand what those distant lights truly were.
Gradually, we came to grasp the seemingly infinite vastness of the Cosmos. And because we had placed ourselves at the center of the universe, we began to wonder whether other living beings might exist beyond our world.
And so, we started exploring the Cosmos in search of an answer.
Today, we know that such life may be possible.
Who knows? Perhaps they are just as curious about us as we are about them.
Perhaps they, too, are watching us.
I wonder if we might meet one day.

Parıldayan ışıkları gördüğünüzde ne düşündünüz acaba?
Bunlar yıldız, bu galiba gezegen, bu Büyük Ayı, işte Küçük Ayı da şurada diye gözlerinizle dolaştınız mı takım yıldızlar, yıldızlar, gezegenler arasında?
Sonra da uzanıp bir koltuğa, gözleriniz evrenin kubbesinde hayallere daldığınız oldu mu?
Tam ben buradan şu yıldıza bakarken, ya oradan da biri bu tarafa bakıyorsa… ya göz göze geliyorsak diye aklınızdan geçti mi?
Henüz gök yüzündeki parıltıların ne olduğunu bilmediğimiz zamanlarda, dünyanın üstüne gece bir kapak kapandığını düşünmüşüz.
Bilgilerimiz arttıkça o parıltıların neler olduklarını anlamışız.
Giderek COSMOS’un bize göre sonsuzluğunu kavramışız ve evrenin merkezine kendimizi konumlandırdığımız için, bizden başka canlılar da var mı diye düşünmeye, bu anlamda da Cosmos’u incelemeye başlamışız.
Bugün olabileceklerini biliyoruz.
Kim bilir belki onlar da bizim onları merak ettiğimiz gibi bizi merak ediyorlar ve gözlüyorlardır.
Bir gün karşılaşabilir miyiz acaba?
